| Membership What are the benefits received for a year's membership? (1) Four issues of the 32 page full color "Perfume Bottle Quarterly," (2) the annual Directory which contains member listings, (3) the opportunity to attend the annual convention in May, and (4) access to the extensive Lending Library at no cost. Are dues pro-rated if a person joins mid-year? No, if a person joins mid-year he/she receives all the back issues of the Perfume Bottle Quarterly for that year, plus the Directory, plus the opportunity to attend the convention. Therefore the new member receives the full complement of benefits of a year's membership, regardless of when they join during the year. Can another person's name be on my listing also? Yes, dues cover one or two people at the same address Can I opt not to have my address printed in the Directory? Yes, just advise the Membership Secretary. However, in making this decision remember that you are cutting yourself off from any possibility of networking with other members who might like to contact you regarding similar collecting interests. Can my business name be on my listing also? Yes, dues cover one person and one business at the same address. How can I find out where I stand in the Member-Get-A-Member contest? Just contact Terri Chappell-Boyd, the Member Get a Member Chair, who keeps a record of all new members you have recruited. How will I remember when dues are due? You will receive a reminder envelope in the mail during June each year. This envelope also serves as a mail-back envelope. You will not receive one if you have paid your dues in advance of the due date. There will also be an announcement printed in the Perfume Bottle Quarterly to remind you. I can't remember if I paid my dues or not. How do I find out? Call or drop an e-mail to the Membership Secretary Susan Arthur and she will advise you of your status. I know a prospective member whom I would like to receive a complimentary copy of a Perfume Bottle Quarterly and an application form. Who can send this out for me? The Membership Secretary will be glad to do this if you supply the person's name and mailing address. Email: Susan Arthur What are the dues amounts? $45 for U.S. members; $50 US for Canadian members; $55 for elsewhere. The higher charges cover the increased postage costs. Checks (for US members) MasterCard and VISA are accepted for payment. What issues of the Quarterly are received during a membership year? The Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer issues, in that order, are sent out to members each year. In other words, each membership year starts anew with the Fall issue. When are dues due? On July 1st of each year. They are delinquent on September 1st. Where do I send any change of address, telephone, fax, email, collecting interests, etc.? To the Membership Secretary who maintains the complete roster of the membership. This will result in correct mailing labels for the Perfume Bottle Quarterly and correct entries for the Directory. Susan Arthur How can I obtain IPBA application forms for recruiting new members? You may request as many of the lovely full color application forms/brochures as you wish. These are wonderful tools for recruiting members (and helping you win prizes in the Member-Get-A-Member contest). Just contact the Member-Get-A-Member Committee Chair and let him/her know how many you would like sent to you. The current MGAM chair is Terri Chappell-Boyd. | Website
Links How can I get my website linked from the IPBA website? One of the IPBA membership benefits is a free link on the IPBA website. All that is required is that you first establish a link on your perfume-related website to the IPBA website (www.perfumebottles.org). Advise the Web Manager Terry Emmony of doing this and he will then enter a link on the IPBA website to yours. The IPBA reserves the right to refuse to link to a site if it is deemed that the site does not further the objects of the Association. |
