About the Cover:
PBQ chose the fantastic little (4 1/2") dolphin to introduce English Cameo Glass Scent Bottles - A Celebration. Made from opal-gray over red cased glass, this tiny treasure was likely the creation of Daniel Pearce and his son, Lionel. Each feature, including every single scale, is carved in detail and to perfection. This marvelous, miniscule creature of the sea is exquisitely animated from its face to its tail, the latter (the stopper of the bottle, in disguise) being stylized to suggest Neptune's trident. Gift of Dr. Leonard S. Rakow and Juliette K. Rakow to The Corning Museum of Glass. Photo Courtesy The Fragrance Foundation.
